About Us

Curnow Dyett Real Estate is one of Victoria’s oldest Auction, Real Estate and valuation companies.  Originally established in 1892 by James Henry Curnow as an auctioneering business, the company covered a wide range of services from selling farm produce, livestock, plant and equipment, general chattels and real estate.  In1936, just out of business college, Fred Dyett was first employed as a typist/clerk.  Fred worked his way up to full ownership when he acquired the company, JH Curnow & Son Pty Ltd, on the death of CJ Curnow (son of JH) in 1962.  He remained chairman of directors of the company until his retirement in 2002 after 66 years working in the business.

Two of Fred’s sons, Ian (employed 1972 – 2007, now retired) and Noel, who commenced in 1981 have been employed in the business.  From 1985 to the present, Noel has been firstly, managing director and now is the sole director of the company.  The business was renamed Curnow Dyett in 1988 to reflect the Dyett family ownership.

Fast forward to today and the ways we live and do business have certainly changed, but the values of good old fashioned hard work, personal service and respect for family and tradition have not changed at Curnow Dyett!

Today Noel and sales manager Andrew Johnston, a well known and popular Bendigo native and licensed estate agent with over 20 years experience (including agency ownership), can handle or guide you through any real estate transaction. Whether it’s sales, valuation or auction services; residential or commercial property expertise that you require, Andrew and Noel will look after you with professionalism and dedication.  Their top priority is achieving a great outcome for you. Your success is their success.
